Noodles, sushi, manga, samurai, the western world has come to fall in love with many things that originate in the oriental Japan. It is not a surprise that the rich Japanese culture has inspired many western fashion designers. From oriental prints and kimono dresses to Harajuku style, we can see elements of Japanese style not only on the runways but also in street style.
In collaboration with two talented stylists at New School in New York, I had my own little take on Japanese influences in fashion. For some of the looks they decided to combine the Japanese influences with an all American (to be fair now pretty much global) fashion trend, denim.
Now, who does not love denim? But will it blend well with Japanese style influences and be a match made in heaven or is it more something for an avant garde costume party? See and judge for your self. I personally definitely would not mind strolling down the street in some of these looks.
