A little while ago it was my birthday (insert flowers, balloons and wild cheering). One of the best things about birthdays is that people tend to give you presents, and if you are lucky you might get something pretty awesome. Like a pineapple bag… or a Lamborghini. Even though I did not get a Lamborghini this time around, I got some beauty products from the brand lush that I absolutely fell in love with.
Lush is a British company that makes handmade cosmetics. Lush produces creams, soaps, shampoos, shower gels, lotions, moisturizers, scrubs, masks and other cosmetics for the face, hair, and body using only vegetarian or vegan recipes.
Lush uses fresh ingredients to create their cosmetics. The original inventors started making products by visiting farmer’s markets and flower shops, bringing their fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers back to their labs, and infusing them into their newest inventions. Not only do the natural products make their products smell absolutely amazing and are mostly much better for your skin than synthetic ones, but they are also better for the environment.
Lush products are 100% vegetarian and mostly also vegan. Lush believes in buying ingredients only from companies that do not commission tests on animals. The products are tested on human volunteers. In 2007 Lush launched the “Charity Pot” campaign. Lush donates 100% of the price of every ‘Charity Pot’ (a hand and body lotion) purchased at their stores and online to small, grassroots organizations working in the areas of environmental conservation, animal welfare and human rights.
